Efforts to Improve Character Education Through Independent Curriculum Policy in Indonesia

The purpose of this study is to comprehensively examine educational issues related to current curriculum policies, especially independent curriculum. Three fundamental areas—independent sharing, autonomous learning, and independent change—are emphasized in this curriculum for educational institutions. Every Indonesian educational institution bases its teaching quality on three criteria. The author observes the three components of the independent curriculum and explains them. Is it a solution for the national education system? Since the education curriculum has changed eleven times in response to changes in policy makers, the independence of each student is bound by the previous curriculum. The character of students in Indonesian educational institutions will be improved by the independent learning curriculum policy. This study is a literature study, and the author uses a qualitative research methodology. Data were collected from various books, articles, and journals that are relevant to the research subject. According to the discussion, the sorting of the collected data requires reduction, presentation, and formation of conclusions
